Since tax is due on 4/15, you cannot file without paying the due amount with Turbo tax. This is just how Turbotax works. You can print and mail in the return. Be sure to go to the Post Office and get a receipt showing you mailed the return on 4/15.

Yes, you can, and should, e-file your tax return even if you can't pay the taxes due in full.

To do that, you can either say you are going to pay by check, or you can apply for an installment agreement.

It's important to file your return on time even if you can't pay the taxes due. This saves you from paying the failure to file penalty. You will still be charged a penalty for not paying on time, and interest on the unpaid balance.

If you say you will pay by check, a payment voucher will be printed with your return. You can mail a late payment, or a smaller payment.

If it'll take you at least six months to pay your balance due, an installment agreement is your best bet. This is a payment option in TurboTax as well.
