How do I deduct the 1099misc that I sent to a contractor from my personal self employed income? Never sent a 1099misc before this and don't want to input it incorrectly.

Report the 1099-MISC as a self employment expense.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Income and Expenses.
  4. Go to Self-employment income and expenses.
  5. Select Review next to your line of work.
  6. Scroll down and select Add expense for this work.
  7. Scroll down and select Contract Labor.
