How do I declare income of $267. working as a poll worker for our local town? They do not send a W-2.

You would report this as miscellaneous income.

In TurboTax, Click on the following tabs:

  • Federal Taxes
  • Wages & Income
  • Scroll down to Less Common Income (you may have to click "Show more" to expand this category
  • Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  • To the right of this category click Start
  • Scroll down to Other Reportable Income
  • To the right of this category click Start

At least in my state, poll worker pay never results in either a W2 or any form of a 1099.  So for 2021, how do you declare it?  The only item I can think of that you declare without a 1099 is IRS interest.

It is not interest.

Thanks.  Suggestion to Intuit - even though the IRS doesn't provide a line for it, perhaps TT could explicit have an interview for it.
