Delete the zero from the A-101 box on the New York return; leave it blank. The instructions for that line say to add back amounts that were deducted or deferred from your pay for a flexible benefits program established by NY City or some NY City employers.
Go to the New York return. The first question after you answer the residency questions is - see below. Delete the zero and leave it blank
If you are getting an error on your W-2 - use the Other - not classified category for Box 14 item categories.
