How do I change the ACA Marketplace response without clearing my entire return.

I selected the wrong answer when prompted and I cannot return to that page to change the response. When attempting to access it it immediately kicks me to the next question about the 1095-a form.

If I cannot change this response I will probably be trying some other software. This is absurd.

Using the online version "Choose the platform" doesn't have any options for me.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. In the search box, type 1095-a and select the Jump to 1095-a link at the top of the search results
  3. See the screenshot below.

Let us know if this is what you were asking.

There was a different question asking if I purchased insurance through the marketplace. That is the page I'm looking for.

I need the page asking whether or not I purchased insurance through the marketplace.

NOT THE 1095 PAGE.

Open up TurboTax and once you are in your return, search the term "1095-A" and then click on "Jump to".

  1. The first screen says "Before we ask about your Form 1095-A, we need to ask about some other information" answer the question and click Continue.
  2. On the next screen "Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?"  This is the page you are looking for.   It doesn't say purchased insurance through the marketplace, it says did you receive Form 1095-A, which means did you have insurance through the marketplace.   This is where you can change an answer.

Somehow you appear to not know how your tax software functions. I moved through a screen that specifically asked if I purchased insurance through a marketplace.

My new plan since I already finished everything else. Submit my taxes as they are and when they get bounced back by the IRS I'll come back here and level much more furious insults.

Did you figure out how to change the response to the initial question about purchasing from the Marketplace? Filing my son's taxes and answered the question incorrectly.  He has a 1095-B butnit a 1095-A. I have tried the suggestions above but that is after the fact. Looks like I may need to start all over. There has to be a way to change my response to that initial question. That response determines if a 1095-A is required.

Yes, you can go back to the section of the Federal return where the ACA question was asked.   To get back to this section:

  1. Once in TurboTax and your return is opened go to the Federal section;
  2. Click on the Deductions and Credits
  3. Scroll to Medical
  4. Then click on Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) and click on "Revisit"
  5. Answer the first question "Yes" or "No" and click Continue
  6. On the next page, answer "No" and click Continue and
  7. Click Continue and this will bring you back to the Deductions and Credit screen.

This DOES NOT WORK. We need to get back to the question about purchasing ins thru the ACA marketplace the Jump to Link just sends you to the 1095-a question. The same is true if you revisit the medical ins question. How can you have the inability to return to the marketplace question. I have used Turbo Tax for years but this is ridiculous.

If you said yes and entered anything on the 1095-A screen at all but you needed to really say no then you must return to the spot of entry to remove the  unneeded 1095-A  ...

To get back to this section:

  1. Once in TurboTax and your return is opened go to the Federal section;
  2. Click on the Deductions and Credits
  3. Scroll to Medical
  4. Then click on Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) and click on "Revisit"
  5. Answer the first question "

    Yes

    "  even if the answer should be no  and click Continue
  6. On the next page, DELETE the 1095-A form you started in error  and click Continue and only then can you answer NO to that question to continue.
  7. Click Continue and this will bring you back to the Deductions and Credit screen.
