How do I change my status from Single to Head of Household? I am forced to file as Single, but I am divorced, with a kid in college and am Head of Household?

I have been Head of Household for 9 years. I am should not file as Single, so, how do I change this?

Are you claiming a qualified dependent?   In order to file as HOH you must have a qualified dependent.

Am I Head of Household?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

Is the "kid in college" living away at school?   Living away at school is considered to be a temporary absence, so you can still say they lived with you.
