How did my fed balance reduce from $1,622.00 to $1,312.00 ? and my state refund for $310.00 I never got... do the math 310 from 1622 = 1312

IRS took $1,932 .00 from my bank account ...my 1040 form states that  I only owed $1,622.00

Could you have owed the state 310?   That would add up to the amount that was taken from your bank account   1622+310=1932

Did you actually print out both federal and state tax returns and look at them to see what they say--instead of looking at that confusing summary that appears in your TT account?

@dennisaw are you sure the IRS took the whole 1932?  You see it coming out of your bank account in one lump payment to IRS?  or could the state have made an error and debited the 310, instead of depositing the 310?

Ok ... you were looking at the summary page where the fed balance due (1932)  and state refund (310) were being netted (1632) ... you still had to pay the entire federal balance due to the feds and then wait for the state to send you the refund.  The state refund can never be sent to the feds directly to pay down your debt since they are completely different taxing authorities.

@Critter#2 User claims IRS took $1932 from his account.

Well then maybe he also made a math error ... the user needs to review the returns carefully and when the IRS sends a notice in the mail explaining the difference it may make more sense.
