Per the IRS, the wage and income transcript shows data from information returns received such as Forms W-2, 1098, 1099, and 5498. You may be able to file your federal tax return (1040) with this information, but state information will not be on the transcript. You will need the full W-2, for example, if you have to file a state return. If you need state information, you will need to get a copy of the W-2 from your employer(s).
