The quickest way to get your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) amount from the previous year, is to go to https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and initiate a Get Transcript On-line request. You must pass the IRS Secure Access identity verification process. You should select the "Adjusted Gross Income" line option. You can review, print, or download the information.

Another option is to call the Internal Revenue Service's transcript telephone number at 1-800-908-9946, or call the Internal Revenue Service's toll free number 1-800-829-1040 to secure your previous tax year's AGI.

If you prefer your transcript by mail, then select the Get Transcript By Mail option and follow the prompts.  It can take 5 to 10 calendar days to receive the information.

If you are not in an hurry to file your return, then you can submit a Form 4506, Request for Copy of Tax Return, to secure a copy of the return.  It can take up to 75 calendar days to receive the return.  A fee is separately charged for each return request submitted.

Whats the answer

With no info provided, it's difficult to know what your situation is and what it is that you are wanting to know.   So we have to start guessing.    Did you prepare a 2019 return with Online TurboTax?  If so, are you unable to log in to the same account you used in order to retrieve a copy of the 2019 return?    We can tell you how to recover access to an account.

Many people end up with multiple accounts.   You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.

To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access.

NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:

Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says

"Try something else"

, and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

Once you recover access to your account, go to the Tax Home.  Scroll down the Tax Home page to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents."  Expand that section and choose tax year 2019.   Then you can choose to "Download/print the PDF", or if you just need the 2019 AGI, there should be a link to "View adjusted gross income (AGI.)"

@KAMB68

Where do I find my AGI?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/27010/message-id/746

Your 2020 tax return shows your 2020 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

Form 1040        line 11

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2020

If entering the amount from your 2020 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2020 AGI may not be in the system.

Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return
