How can I get all my w2 forms from all my employers from more than 10 jobs from different cities/counties? I can't remember all the jobs I had.

I lived in 3 different cities and worked for multiple agencies and jobs

  • You can get a wage and income transcript, containing the Federal tax information your employer reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA), by using Get Transcript Online. Refer to Transcript Types and Ways to Order Them for more information.
  • You can also use Form 4506-TRequest for Transcript of Tax Return. Check the box for Form W-2, specify which tax year(s) you need, and mail or fax the completed form. Allow 5 to 10 days from the IRS received date to receive the transcript.
  • You will have to contact your states department of revenue to get the wage and income transcript in order to complete your state return.

    Note:
Wage and income transcripts are available for up to 10 years but current tax year information may not be complete until July. This transcript doesn't include any state or local tax information reported by your employer to SSA on Form W-2.

If you believe you will be receiving a refund you can wait to file your return until later in the year.

Once all of the tax documents have posted through the IRS system then you can get a Wage and Income transcript from the IRS.

If all of your jobs sent W-2s to the IRS is will appear as part of this transcript.  Once you have this information you can file your tax return.

Usually the current year's Wage and Income Transcripts are not available until late May or early June.

If you believe you may have a balance due then you can file an extension and pay the amount you believe will be due.  Then you have until October 15, 2020 to file your tax return.

Hopefully between which employers your remember and the W2s your received you can get them all by contacting employers.  If not, as Patrice mentions above.

As a couple of agents answered above, you can do the following. Otherwise, you would have to contact each of them and request copies.

  • You can get a wage and income transcript, containing the Federal tax information your employer reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA), by using Get Transcript Online. Refer to Transcript Types and Ways to Order Them for more information.

Yes, the IRS receives W-2 data from employers.  They have your W-2 data even if you did not file your tax return.

@KeyonEley Luckily for you the filter removed some--but not all-- of the personal information you posted to this public web site.  If you return to this post you can click the three little blue dots on the upper right to edit out your name and date of birth.

TurboTax does not have your W-2.

I NEED A COPY OF MY W-2  (or 1099)

TurboTax does not have a copy of your W-2—the Wage & Tax Statement—issued to you by your employer, (nor does TurboTax have copies of your 1099’s).   You should always save those documents for your own records. You could ask the employer(s) for copies or you can get a copy from Social Security (for a fee of $86).

To get a copy of a W-2 from Social Security https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02501

https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2

If you saved a pdf of your completed tax return, the worksheets will show the W-2 information you entered, but not the actual W-2.

You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Or you can pay the IRS $50 for an actual copy of your tax return which will include copies of your W-2’s

If you worked for an agency, you will get one

W-2 or 1099-MISC from them and not from  the companies they sent you to.

Form 2018 to 2020 online

If you electronically filed your tax returns, the IRS does not have a copy of your W-2.  If you cannot locate your copy of  a W-2, they can only only be obtained from the individual employer.

There is no fee to use the IRS Get Transcript tool to request your wage and income transcript.  The transcript would tell you each employer who issued a W-2 with your Social Security number.  You may be able to request your wage and income transcript online or by mail.

If you cannot obtain the W-2 from your employer, then for a fee you can get a complete copy of a W-2 from the Social Security Administration

See also this IRS website.

Access IRS Get Transcript at this webpage.  You may request online or by mail.

There are different transcript types but you probably want the Wage and Income Transcript.

IRS form 4506-T Request for Transcript of Tax Return can be used to request by mail.

You may want to view or create an IRS Account.  See this.

Online Account is an online system that allows you to securely access your individual account information.  You may view:

The amount you owe, updated for the current calendar day,

  • Your balance details by year,
  • Your payment history and any scheduled or pending payments,
  • Key information from your most recent tax return,
  • Payment plan details, if you have one,
  • Digital copies of select notices from the IRS, and
  • Your Economic Impact Payments (EIP 1 and EIP 2), if any
