How can I fix my what-if worksheet? It claims that my "other income" is incorrect, and that the amount may be too large/small. Nothing is helping!

The what-if worksheet claims that in my "other income" section, the amount is either too small or large. Which is making some of the computed results incorrect. I've tried to plug in "0", "0.00" and anything else that may make sense based off of my return. It's not specific enough to tell me what needs to be fixed, or what I need to go back and review. Plus, why do I need to fill out the what-if worksheet anyways? Please help, I'm stuck and can't get anywhere else.

The what-if worksheet is not necessary. It is there in case you want to try different scenarios and help you determine if you need to change forms at work or pay estimated taxes. You can just delete the form. If you need to try out ideas after filing, check out Tax calculators & tools.

To delete:

  • Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
  •  Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
    1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
    2. Click on FORMS.
    3. Locate the form you want to delete.
    4. Click on the form name.
    5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button. For a mac, click the delete button on your keyboard.

Are you using the Online version?  Online doesn't have the What-If worksheet.  It's only in the Desktop CD/Download program.  And it should not prevent you from Efiling.
