You cannot file another tax return with the same SSN.  If you filed a tax return using a Social Security number, any other attempts to e-file using that number will be rejected.  What are you trying to do?

If you have already filed your return and it has been accepted by the IRS, then the only way to file another return under the same Social Security number for the same tax year is to amend the original return to add income or deductions or change the information that was already filed.  You cannot file a second return for the same SSN.

@shauncampbell966 You mean you want to file another W-2?  Did you already file a tax return with one W-2?

All of your income is supposed to be entered on the same tax return Form 1040.

ALL of your W-2’s and/or 1099’s were supposed to be on the same tax return.  Remember that next year and do not e-file until you have everything.  Now you have to prepare an amended return to add that W-2—and the process will take months.

A 1040X cannot be e-filed.  It must be printed and mailed.  It will take about 4 months for the IRS to process an amended return.  It is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it, like UPS or certified mail, so you will know it was received.

Wait about 3 weeks from mailing and you can check the status of your amended return:
