How can I close out my federal without a K1? I needed one last year, but not this year.

If you have not filed, you can simply remove the form.  Here are the steps (online):

  1. Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off
  2. To your left, select Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow
  3. Select Tools
  4. Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
  5. Scroll down the list to locate the Schedule K-1, select Delete and Continue with My Return

Or Try deleting it this way.  Go to the K-1 interview section here
Federal
Wages and Income
Then scroll way down to Business Items
Schedules K-1, Q - Click the Start or Update button

If the first screen says "Do you want to review Schedule K-1?". You have to answer yes and then click Update by  the Schedule K-1 type (LLC, S corp, trust). The next screen is the Summary screen listing all of the K-1 entered for that type of entity.  You can review, edit or delete it there.
