How can I bypass the phone number required to file? I do not want to provide and the dummy number did not work. I've already paid for the prep.

I wonder if you need it if you print and mail your return?  

You do not have to enter any phone number to e-file your tax return.  When the program shows the problem during error check in Federal Review and in Final Review, leave the box blank, click Continue and then click on Done.  The program will take you to the File section of the program where you can choose to e-file or print the return for mailing, without any further request to enter a phone number.
