How can I add my PTIN number to a tax return when I am preparing for customers?

The TurboTax personal software is a do-it-yourself tax program.  It is

NOT

licensed for paid tax preparers.

You can not use the Online versions or the personal Desktop Software to prepare returns for clients.  Intuit has 2 products for tax preparers. They are Lacerte and ProSeries.  ProSeries is the least expensive. You can install ProSeries and Turbo Tax on the same computer.

TurboTax is not licensed for use by paper repairs and has no place to add a PTIN.  (I don’t know that it’s illegal to use TurboTax in this situation but it is definitely improper and against IRS regulations and the TurboTax software license.)
