Hi, I am an LPR, and our daughters are here since 2017 on F1. Can I claim them on my filing as dependents?

we immigrated in 2017, giving up everything - as requested by the immigration status per say - in the home country. as we did not want to and could not leave our kids behind, they came along as students. We are their legal guardians, paying for everything. I would like to claim them on my income tax return as dependents.

No, you cannot, unfortunately.  If they came to the US first time in 2017 on an F-1 visa, they will be considered as a nonresident for five years (2017-2021).  As a nonresident, you cannot claim them on your taxes. See rules  Credit for Other Dependents
