Hello. I am very confused as I am filing Jointly with my husband but it only allowed me to add my W2. How can I add his?

I filed my portion of the taxes with my W2 but it never allowed me to add his. It has been forcing me to create a new account for him. I did that and now his is being rejected because my file has been accepted with his information on it.

If you are filing jointly, you report both spouses' income on the same tax return.

To add your spouse's  W-2. please follow these steps:

  1. In TurboTax Online, open your tax return
  2. Click on Federal on the left-hand column then on Wages & Income
  3. Navigate to the list of income categories
  4. Click Edit/Add next to Job (W-2)
  5. On the next page, click on Add another W-2 or Add a W-2 for [spouse's name] .

On your account, if you selected to include your spouse on the tax return in the My Info section of the program then you should have a filing status of Married Filing Jointly.

Every income section of the TurboTax program will include a screen to select, by Name, who the form or income belongs to.

For example, go back to the W-2 section that displays the tax return you entered.  Click on the button labeled Add another W-2.  The following screen will ask you to select who the W-2 belongs to.
