HDHP question

I am helping my daughter's 19 year old boyfriend do his taxes.  We are stuck on the question Check the box to indicate your coverage under a high-deductible health plan (HDHP)  during 2021 and the choices are self or family.  Since this is during the federal check, it is making us select one or the other.  Keep in mind he's 19, recently out of high school, didn't live with his parents so he wasn't covered under an HDHP plan so he can't select either.  TT won't let us continue without selecting something so how can we move past this?

Check to see if Box 12 of his W-2 form has an amount with code W reported. If that is the case, he most likely has a self-only HDHP.

Thank you.  Ended up from one of his jobs he had last year, he had Anthem.

the HDHP question is usually in relation to a Health Savings Account contribution. you say he wasn't covered by a HDHP at any time during 2021, therefore he's not eligible for an HSA contribution. this is really a programming bug in Turbotax since "none" is not an option. select "self".  hopefully, he doesn't have a code W with an amount on his W-2 (if he has one).  if he does,  post back because there are tax issues.
