Handling multiple 1099-Cs in a joint return

My wife and I both received 1099-Cs for individual (not joint) debt. I can create the cancellation worksheet in the desktop app, but it appears the worksheet wants to apply the insolvency calculation to both forms, even though they were on separate dates and were issued in one or the other's names. Can I not do a separate calculation for each 1099-C?

If you are filing a joint tax return, then you need to determine the degree to which you are insolvent based on your joint assets and liabilities. Likewise, you need to combine the cancellation of debt income to determine the amount to be excluded from tax, based on the degree to which you are jointly insolvent. So, you can't treat each Form 1099-C calculation separately.
