Had marketplace and employer's insurance at the same time.

I thought my mom had cancelled my marketplace Obamacare/medicaid insurance when I signed up for my employer's insurance.  But that was not the case, hence I had 2 insurances for the entirety of 2022.

I already cancelled the marketplace one in Nov but I am not sure if there is anything I need to do or how to approach tax filing.

Thanks!

You will need to report you had marketplace insurance on your tax return.  You will need your 1095-A form, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement.  By entering the 1095-A, any adjustments that need to be made to the premium tax credit will be reconciled.

To enter the 1095-A in TurboTax, follow these steps:

  1.   Click Deductions and Credits on the left side panel
  2. Scroll down to Medical and click show more
  3. Click start by Affordable Care Act (1095-A)
  4. Enter information as it appears on your 1095-A
