Had a friend asking me about getting less refund for not having insurance...is that still happening? I know they tried to change it or did away with it I thought

The shared responsibility payment will be gone for tax year 2019.
Unfortunately, you won't file for 2019 for another year.
For 2018, the shared responsibility payment is still in effect for those who do not have health insurance and do not have an exemption from health insurance.
