Got suspicious email "IDnotify" today. Says it's part of Experian and "for TurboTax customers." Does anyone know if it's legit?

I got this same email from Turbotax, so instead of clicking on the email, I logged into TurboTax (after they sent me both a text and email verification) and tried to figure out what was going on.  It's fairly confusing since Turbotax provided it, but they don't have a way to log into it.

Anyway, after I logged into TurboTax and got nowhere with searching for IDnotify, I clicked on the email and it took me to a website that has a big TurboTax logo on it with an idnotify.com URL and it gave me this message:

Please contact support at [phone number removed] for assistance.

You have successfully logged out of IDnotify. If you’d like to log in again, click here.

Get comprehensive identity protection coverage

Exclusively for TurboTax customers - get IDnotify's most comprehensive identity protection plan at a special discounted price.  The Premier Plan offers Tri-Bureau Credit Monitoring, Financial Account Takeover Notifications, and a full suite of identity monitoring services.

When I call that number, there is a recording asking for my SSN.

This REALLY smells like either a PHISHING scam or a sales pitch from Experian or TurboTax or IDNotify, or some hacker in Russia or China ...

Anyone know whats up with this?

Ok ... if you purchased the MAX benefits add on to the TT program then the ID Notify was part of the package so you should have gotten an email alerting you on how to access this benefit.

On the other hand it could just be a promotional email selling the ID Notify product ... purchase if you wish but check out their website directly if you don't trust the email link.

Just got the same thing.  Did you ever figure it out?  Since you can't call Turbotax, I'm not sure what to do.

On turbo tax they say go to an idnotify email and call the number, but I don't have any old ones, just this new number on these new emails (got three one after another) which asks for your SS#.

@SFIrish1 Do not reply to a suspicious email and certainly do not give out your SSN!!!
