Form 8615: Turbo tax is telling me the filing status of parent should be blank, but Turbo tax checked the box automatically and I cannot uncheck it.

You should be able to adjust this in my info.  Follow these steps to correct:

Log into TurboTax

1. Select My Info
2. Click in the first primary tax payer
3. Edit
4. Continue through the interview
5. You'll com to the screen About your household
6. You can select the filling status here.
