form 5498 issuance

I made a nondeductible IRA contribution for 2023 in April 2024. To this day I still haven't gotten form 5498 for the contribution. The brokerage house insists that they have until May 2025 to mail it out. But this is a 2023 contribution. Are they right?

Yes. They are correct, as the 2023 contribution is made in 2024 and will be reported on on form 5498 for 2024.

 

You do not enter form 5498 on your tax return.
