Forgot RMD - How to enter in TurboTax online?

Hi Team,

I know it needs form 5329 but can access that form using the online TurboTax. Is there any way to enter it that would generate 5329. I forgot to take the RMD in 2023 which I took care of in 2024.

As long as you took your RMD before tax filing deadline, when you enter your 1099-R in TurboTax, indicate that 'all of the distribution is RMD'.

 

You won't have a penalty or need Form 5329.
