For book publishing and sales, do I need a tax ID #, or can I use my social security number? What form should I use to get the Tax ID?

This is for 2017, I've had it copyrighted under my name.  This will be for self published ebooks.

You don't need an EIN (employer identification number) unless you have employees or certain kinds of retirement plans. and a few other things. See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/do-you-need-an-ein

You can get one by filling out an SS-4 online at irs.gov
