Final Tax Return review shows one error in Form 8889?

I got to the review tax return section and received error that Form 8889-T  December Plan type check box must have a selection. The form shows all the months and they are all empty.....Now I had an HSA part of last year for the first time, however, my father is claiming as a dependent. I therefore, had an overpayment I have to withdraw. TT asked if I had coverage by a HDHP in 2023 and I said NO. The review error asks me to select December coverage of self, none or family. Any ideas on what I need to do? Thanks

If you had a HDHP for that month then select 'self'.  If you didn't then select 'none'.

So even if I had coverage by a HDHP in 2023 and I said NO on TurboTax, I should just select and check the box of December for "self"? Or should I select "none"

For reference I had a HDHP from Sept through present.

Thanks

You had one.  Go ahead and select 'self'.

Just checked the box "self" for December and got another error. This one says......Form 8889-T, Line 3A 12, Self should not be checked. You indicated on the federal information worksheet that taxpayer could be claimed as a dependent of another, which makes taxpayer ineligible.

Any ideas??

Click 'none'.
