Filing with state estimates and federal withheld?

I work remotely and my employer does not withhold my MD state income tax because of this (they still do normal federal withholdings). This required me to make estimated MD state tax payments quarterly last year using the state comptroller website.

I purchased the Deluxe version of TT and this will be my first time filing in this situation. How does Turbo Tax handle a return filing situation like this? Do I need to do anything special?

To enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  • On Estimates, click on the start or update button

Or enter estimates paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid

Or click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.
Click on Tools
Click on Topic Search
Type in estimated tax payments, click on GO

Thanks Donin, so it sounds like turbo tax handles this pretty easily. You did mention Home & Business in your reply though and I have the Deluxe edition. Will that be a problem?

The Deluxe edition supports the entry of estimated taxes, so you should have no problem entering the state estimated taxes you paid.
