filing status

Married, not legally separated. I moved to OR in Sept he remains in CA. His income is from CA. Mine is from CA and OR. How should we file. Things are amicable, we own property in CA.

Your options are Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) or Married Filing Separately (MFS). If you file separately, because CA is a community property state, there are rules about allocating income that you must adhere to.  if you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can compare which filing status is the most advantageous to use.

Refer to the TurboTax Help article How can I compare Married Filing Jointly with Married Filing Separately?
