Filing later a form I can't fill in before the (extended) deadlne?

If I can't a file one form by the (extended) deadline, can I file 1040 and everything else I can, and file the missing form alone later? Example: the FATCA form. Or I should file everyting together and pay the penalties.

Hi @Midalvri !

Are you referring to form 8938?  Form 8938 must be filed along with your income tax return (Form 1040) and is due at the same time per these IRS instructions:

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8938.pdf

There are delinquency penalties discussed here:

Best wishes!

Cindy

Thank you, Cindy4. This is for 8938. What about other forms, like Schedule B or alike?

Yes, it's best to file everything by the extension due date to avoid penalties for not timely filing.  If you are due a refund on your 1040, you do have 3 years do claim it.

Thank you. If I am due a refund (=don't owe tax), will I still get penalties for filing past the (extended) deadline, in this case October 15?

If you are delinquent in filing the 8938, you may.
