Filing in Multiple States

My daughter lived in NJ and worked in NY. Midyear she moved to NC but continues to work for NY company. Her w2 shows taxes for NY and NC. Does she have to file state return for NJ still.

Yes, she will need to file a return for NJ for the portion of the year that she lived there. She would qualify for a credit in NJ for the tax paid to NY on the same income, which should mostly offset the tax that she would owe to NY, if not all of it.
