I married in June 2023 and he passed away in August 2023. He had received disable social security benefit for 7 years and left big amount of medical bill and some debts that I have been taking responsibilities. I paid about $7000 medical bill so far. What is best way to file for him as deceased person and I can get tax deduction for those I had to take care? He did not leave any assets to me but maybe I will get some money from his bank account in next year after six month he passed.
I am sorry to hear about the recent passing.
Here is an article regarding filing a return for a deceased taxpayer:

You may file a joint return in 2023. Make sure to report his social security benefits.
You can also report the medical expenses in the deductions and credits section of TurboTax, to see if you have enough itemized deductions in the tax return that exceed the standard deduction. 7,000 may not be enough to move into itemized deductions unless you have a lot of mortgage interest and real estate, and vehicle property taxes to report.
Thank you,
