Filed the Indiana taxes because I received a 1099-MISC from for freelance work I do. I realized that I didnt have to. What to do to cancel and get the money I just paid?

I live and work in Texas, and did so all of 2018. I did freelance translation work for the company based in Indiana, however I never lived or worked in Indiana. I have already submitted the tax return thinking I had to and was charged state taxes, which I had to pay at the time of submitting the return. After reading the state information (that was not clear before to me) I realized I did not have. I am not sure what to do to get my money back and to cancel the return as it is not correct.

You would need to file an amended return for Indiana where you would remove the income reported and that should cause a refund amount due back to you to be reported on the amended return.

See the steps below for how to amend a state return without federal in TurboTax:

So would it be correct for me to not have to file the state tax return with them? I just want to make sure
