Federal return is not eligible for electronic filing because the tax withheld is greater than what the form figured out from the data I entered...and it's all unemployment forms

You normally have this problem when the tax withheld is unusually high in comparison with the income reported. Unemployment income is reported in box 1 on form 1099-G, and the tax withheld is reported in box 4 and/or 11. I suggest you review those entries and make sure you entered the numbers correctly and that they are correctly reported on the form 1099-G. If so, then you will need to mail your tax return in as the IRS will not accept it for e-file.

It is the IRS unemployment income compensation tax exclusion (UCE) for 2020 tax returns..HEAVEN forbid Turbo Tax would explain this is detail so I don't have to go search the web to understand the issue! That field was automatically calculated from who knows where and caused to form to have the issue forcing me to have to manually MAIL the return..then it told me I could e-file the state taxes of a whopping $16 refund but it would cost me $25! when I tried to do it...it TOOK my money and my order for the efile but then said it couldn't e-file until the federal return was filed....this year has been my worst experience with Turbo tax and I have been using it for YEARS! I had SIMPLE returns!
