Check out this IRS article and see if it helps determine what the situation is.

Hey @DawnC , that IRS document would be super helpful to me and other users if TurboTax actually gave us the information that that KBA is asking for.

As per the document:

Every error has an Xpath that begins with text similar to this:
“Field/Xpath: /efile:Return[1]/efile:ReturnData[1]/efile:”

And yet TurboTax does not present that part of the error to us rendering us unable to troubleshoot on our own. Any advice on that or where to get that information?

Thanks,

It seems this is a known issue and should be corrected tomorrow.  Please attempt to e-file tomorrow and if you still receive the rejection, comment back and let us know.  Apparently, you are not alone with that specific reject code today.    @Igono

What this means:
The IRS has found the following problems with your return:

  • The XML data has failed schema validation.
  • The XML data has failed schema validation.
  • The XML data has failed schema validation.
  • The XML data has failed schema validation.

Next step:
Don't worry, we can help! Just open your return in TurboTax and we'll walk you through fixing the error and e-filing again at no additional cost.
