fed w2 accurate. There is an error on state W2 box 16 where employer included my severance check as taxable state income. Ok to file fed tax while waiting for correction?

Yes. You do not have to file both your federal and state returns at the same time.

Make sure that your state return(s) are not selected for electronic filing at the time of filing your return

Your e-filed federal return will need to be accepted before you can e-file your state.
