F1116 - Turbo Tax needs to improve in this area

I am using Turbo Tax for 5 years & every year I have difficulty in completing F1116 to get Foreign tax credit.  This year I was very particular & followed everything properly.  The Final Review indicated everything is fine & I did  eFile.  But it was rejected by IRS due to problem with F1116.  I double checked  - things look fine & the tax credit amount was correct; Final Review also said OK.  Submitted again but rejected by the same F1116 reason (total 3 times failed) .   Very Frustating!! 

So:   1) I deleted F1116.     2)  Saved the File    3)  Entered  F1116 with only Div information.  4)  Saved File  5)  Entered F1116 with Int information    6)  Saved File.      Then eFiled  - This time it is accepted.  Finally!!

Compared the 4 - printed output - all looks same with correct amount of  credit & refund!!! 

Moral of the story -  Delete the offending Form and start afresh with little steps at a time!

There are e-file issues with the Form 1116 in general.  Please sign up for notification here: Form 1116 reject error

 

Please also sign up if you have issues with Form 1116 e-file and is not related to 1099-DIV.  There has been e-file issue related to Form 1116 overall.
