Excess Social Security Caused by Two Employers and W2 Box 12 Code M

I have W2s from two separate employers (different EINS).  One W2 shows max social security wages and withholding.  The other W2 shows non-cash compensation (cost of group life insurance) and shows amounts for both Social Security Wages and for tax on that amount in the Box 12 Code M (uncollected social security tax on cost of group life insurance).  If I just put everything in TT, it carries the amount in Box 12 Code M to Schedule 2 Line 13 as an addition to my total liability.  TT does not then produce a credit for excess withholding on Schedule 3 Line 11.  I would appreciate any help.  It seems like TT should treat the Box 12 Code M amounts as social security withholding and give me a credit for excess withholding on Schedule 3 Line 11.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We've sent this issue to our investigations team. In the meantime, you will need to manually enter your excess Social Security tax credit on line 11 of Schedule 3.

To do this in Forms mode, go to the 1040/1040SR Wks, and scroll down until you see the Excess Social Security and Tier I RRTA Tax Withheld Smart Worksheet. Enter the total amount of your credit in the yellow box.
