Excess Roth IRA Withdrawal - Withdraw more than required?

First time I've had this fun. I'm under 59 1/2 and understand pros/cons of 6% yearly.

Opened up Roth IRA in 2021, turns out MAGI was higher than expected and TurboTax is suggesting I withdraw say $2000. I understand I will pay 10% penalty on any earnings of that $1000.

My question though - Can I withdraw more than $2000 (say $2500) without violating any laws/rules or additional* penalties? (*Realizing still 10% on any earnings).

Thanks!

you should do it in two transactions.

you can always take out your own contributions.

the custodian has to calculate the earnings on your excess contribution for you and will do that when you request the excess removal. So you do that first.
