Even with the Path Act, can I get my child his EIP 1 and 2 even though he didn't get his SSN till 4/21/2021? He lives abroad, an American citizen, and was born in 2017

My son is an American citizen born abroad in 2017. I didn't get his EIP 1,2, and 3 because he didn't have a SSN. But I recently got his SSN in 4/21/2021.

I can claim him as a dependent, but I'm not sure if I can get his EIP 1 and 2 because he didn't have a SSN in 2020.

Will the Path Act disqualify me from getting EIP 1 and 2?

As long as you file the 2020 return AFTER  the SS# was issued then you should get all 3 stimulus payments for the child.

I forgot to mention that I already filled my 2020 tax return and I'm going to do a 1040X for my 2020 taxes.

Bad move ... you should have gone  on extension and waited for that number.   So even if the program gives you the stimulus credit don't expect the IRS to allow it or the other child credits.
