Estimated amount on Extension form 4868 is incorrect

I've already filed my extension (Form 4868) for 2024 and it has been approved.

However, I just received another K-1 and I owe more money than I had originally estimated on my Form 4868.

I had set up a payment via IRS Direct Pay for the estimated amount on Form 4868 (but it will not withdraw until 4/15/25).

Can I just modify my payment on the Direct Pay site, so that it is withdrawing the larger estimated amount, and ignore the fact that my extension Form 4868 has a different value that I said I'd pay? (I'm assuming there's no way to change Form 4868 once it's been accepted.)

Thanks.

Yes, you are correct; you can't make changes to Form 4868.   But your plan will work just fine.

Provided you wrote down your confirmation number, or requested it be emailed to you, you can use that number to look up, modify or cancel a scheduled payment before it happens.  Select the option Look Up a Payment on the main Direct Pay page to enter your confirmation number and make changes.  You have until two business days before the payment date to cancel or make any changes.
