Education expanses will not allow me to continue, I believe it has something to do with the tax credit. It will not allow me to make a change

The American Opportunity Credit is for a 4 year degree and it does not apply, the Lifetime is a life time credit which also doesn't apply, turbo tax say it does but when I go to complete it gets hung up and asks me to continue

The 1098-T is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your tax return. However receipt of a 1098-T frequently means you are either eligible for a tuition credit or possibly your student has taxable scholarship income.

The education section of TurboTax (TT) can get messy. If you know you don't qualify for a credit, just don't enter the 1098-T or any other expense.

Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary".  Click delete next to the student's name.
