Education credit for a 23 yr old dependent

My dependent 23 yr old daughter who works took 3 graduate classes and paid for them. How should I/she claim these expenses in education ? She will also file income tax as her salary is large enough.

If she is a full time student, you can still claim her as a dependent if she did not provide more than half of her own support. It does not matter how large her own income is.

In this case, you would enter her 1098-T on your tax return and claim her education credits.

She'll file her own tax return to report her own income and indicate in TurboTax that she can be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer.

In the case where she is not a full-time student OR she provided more than half of her own support with her income, then you can't claim her as a dependent. She would file her own tax return and claim her education credits.
