Doing 2022 returns in Dec 2023 - finished federal (desktop), trying to download MA state, repeatedly get "Hmmm... it looks like we've hit a slight snag" - how to fix?

Helping friend with 2022 returns, using his Macbook - bought and installed TT 2022 Federal desktop product, finished federal return. Now need to get TT 2022 MA state desktop product!  Clicked "download state" button in federal product, then selected state=MA - download fails with "Hmmm... it looks like we've hit a slight snag" - several retries, same result.  No other/earlier desktop versions on his machine, we always use TT's online version (except for 2022, because overdue).

Try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and reopen TurboTax.

Cookies & Cache cleared, this is the only response when attempting to download CA State for Win11 Desktop TT Business.

Did you find a fix for this? I'm having the same problem

The only solution I found was to return TurboTax and use Tax Act.

Don't want to come across as snarky but Intuit was of no help - with their repeated "clear cache, reboot, try a different computer, etc" less than helpful solutions.  Something is/was clearly wrong with their server and I didn't want to keep trying.

Tax Act worked right away. And I was able to get a refund on Turbo Tax.
