Does TurboTax submit direct debit payments to the IRS if you've completed step 2 (your payment info) and scheduled a payment date but have NOT filed yet after that date?

I was getting ready to file my taxes on 2/12 and went to step 2, entered in my direct debit info and completed the forms to schedule a payment for 2/13. After going to step 3 I found I was not able to submit my taxes yet. Does Turbotax submit your payment to the IRS on the date if you have NOT actually filed yet? Or do you have to file for the payment to be triggered? As it says it may take a few days to process and don't see anything on my bank account but want to make sure I don't get charged multiple times if I change that date before I submit??

Nothing is sent to the IRS until you complete Step 3 of the File section and you click on the large Orange button labeled "

Transmit my returns now

If you have not filed, then no information at all has been sent to the IRS, including payment information. Furthermore, when you are ready to file, you will find that you will have to update the date, because TurboTax will not allow you to pick a date that is before the date you file the return.
