Yes, desktop Deluxe (CD/download) has all the usual Federal forms. It can prepare Schedules C and SE in the interview.
It is Online Deluxe that has form limitations. The online version cannot prepare Sched. C,D,E,F, or enter K-1.
Desktop Deluxe comes in 2 versions--one that is Federal-only and one that is both Federal and State. If purchased from TurboTax, it is the combo Fed and State version. If purchased elsewhere, you have to be careful which version you are buying.

So then would it be fair to say that the product comparison chart at https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/ directing Schedule C filers to TurboTax Self-Employed is a recommendation, but not a requirement?
No. That page is right for the Online web version. It says online at the end of it. Self Employed is required in the Online versions to do schedule C, etc. Self Employed is the new name for the Online version. It used to be called Home & Business.
You need to look at the Desktop programs on this page, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
The Desktop program is still called Home & Business.
If you buy the Desktop CD or Download Software all versions have schedule C & SE but will but you will get more help in Home & Business. To enter it in the lower Desktop programs.....

epo39b gave a slightly different answer. He or she stated: "Yes, desktop Deluxe (CD/download) has all the usual Federal forms. It can prepare Schedules C and SE in the interview." However, you say that we must navigate the menu to enter Business Income. Are both of you correct?
Yes, we both are correct. Newer less-experienced users may want to go through the whole interview in order to be sure something is not missed. VolvoGirl merely provided some shortcut steps to get to that specific area for Schedule C. But you can go through the interview in order, and it will lead you to the correct entry area to enter your business information in interview mode.
There is even a third method--Forms Mode--for direct viewing and editing of the forms, but it is not recommended as the main method of entry, only for verifying and sorting out problems if necessary.
