Does this mean I will be able to eFile with Form 8379 included with my return? Also, will this speed up the return of my refund?

Yes, you will be able to e-file with the Form 8379 included with your tax return.

No, it will not speed up your tax refund.  It normally takes the IRS about 11 weeks to process an e-filed tax return with a Form 8379.

Why is there a hang up?? I go to IRS website and i can pull up the 11/2021 revised 8379 but we are not being allowed to Efile until March and now because of this its also holding my state return so now I have to wait even longer for that. Is this the IRS or something with all e-file systems?

For questions regarding the availability on Form 8379, please see this Help Article IRS forms availability. If the form becomes available sooner than currently published on that Help Article, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.

Thank you, I just wish I would've known that even paying with my credit card Turbo tax would not allow for my state taxes to file. I would've filed those separate so I could at least get that part of my refund, I understand if you have to wait for the IRS for the form just frustrating, I can't file the part that does not involve the 8379

@TnDj16

You can print, ink sign and mail in the state return now if you wish to do so but you cannot EFILE a state return before the fed is successfully efiled.

You cannot efile State until Federal is filed.  Please understand that the IRS must first approve TT's versions (programming) of its forms before they can be released.

Thank you for that information

Thank you for your response unfortunately I cannot do that either seems how I paid for it already with my CC thinking I would be able to process the state as clearly I was unaware I could not efile state without federal, but now I know.  Now I have to wait even longer than normal its bad enough that every year I have to wait 3-8 months for the IRS to even get my return to me but now I have to wait until March to be able to even start that process which will put it even farther behind. I've seen many posts where others have said this has been repeatedly pushed back so there is a chance that this may not even get approved before our taxes are due in April so then what happens do I get a penalty or fine for late filing if this form doesn't get released for TT use??and because I paid for this already so I'm just stuck now, maybe there will be a miracle and the form will be released before
