does the address on my w-2 need to match up with my mailing address on turbotax? or do i need to file in two states?

The address on the W-2 does not have to match your current mailing address on your tax return.   People move all the time.

No, the address does not have to be the same. If you were a part-year resident of two different states, you may need to file two state tax returns. If you moved after the year's end, you won't have to, just because the address is different.
