Does my learners permit count as a drivers license to e-file my taxes?

It asks, "What type of state-issued ID do you have?"

Would my learners
permit count as a drivers license, or should I select I don't have any of these forms of ID?

Yes, your Learner's Permit counts as a Drivers License to e-file your taxes.  You should select "Drivers License" for your type of State ID.

Does this still apply in 2023?

If you don't have a drivers license then mark that you don't have a driver's license and you can efile without getting those questions.  Do not try to substitute a permit or anything else.  Just mark that you don't have a driver's license.

You can file your taxes without an ID.  The IRS and State tax offices are now asking that tax filers provide their driver’s license or state-issued ID number  to help prevent identity theft and fraud, but it is not required in order to file your taxes, for most states,
