Does my dependent child who is filing a seperate income tax return need to include Health marketplace insurance on his return?

It depends. If he is filing a separate return, and you choose to allocate a portion of the Marketplace plan to him, then yes.  However, this is not required. You can choose amongst yourselves to allocate him 0% of the plan you both are on, and then he would not need to include 1095-A information on his return.

If you decide to make an allocation to him, see this article for information on how he should report it: I'm on my parents' 1095-A form. What do I do on my return?
